Asian dies after he was run over by vehicle

KUWAIT CITY, May 9: An Asian expatriate died when he was run over by a vehicle driven by a Kuwaiti citizen in Rawda area. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the accident, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location and referred the victim, who was alive at that time, to Amiri Hospital for treatment. However, he was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. His corpse was referred to the Forensics Department. The Kuwaiti motorist was taken to Rawda Police Station, where, during interrogations, he said he was driving down the road when the victim suddenly crossed the road, and he was unable to stop his car. A case was registered.

Meanwhile, three unknown individuals waylaid an Indian expatriate in Maidan Hawally area, attacked him and robbed him of his wallet, which contained KD 35 and his civil ID. The victim filed a case at Maidan Hawally Police Station, reporting to securitymen about the incident.

Meanwhile, an Indian expatriate was kidnapped by an unknown individual in a pickup, and robbed of his two mobile phones and KD 200 cash. The victim went to Jahra Police Station and informed securitymen that he was standing in Jahra area waiting for a taxi when a youth in a pickup stopped next to him and offered to drop him to Saad Al- Abdullah area. After he entered the pickup, the suspect sped towards another location where he threatened the victim with a knife and took his mobile phones and cash of KD 200. A case was registered and investigations have been launched to find and arrest the driver of the pickup, the descriptions of which were provided by the victim to securitymen. In addition, a Kuwaiti citizen reported the theft of his father’s dog at Abdali Police Station. He did not accuse anyone. A case was registered for launching investigations.
