KUWAIT CITY, Sept 16: In confirmation of the published report on a quartet committee’s recommendation for granting rewards to security officers for their work during the COVID-19 crisis, security sources said the procedures for the disbursement of two full salaries as well as Kuwait Medal for the personnel from the Kuwait Army, Kuwait Police, National Guard and Kuwait Fire Service Directorate are in full swing, reports Al-Anba daily.

They revealed that a high-ranking official of the Ministry of Interior, during his inspection of a number of departments to follow up the workflow, had informed the security leaders, officers, and non-commissioned officers that two full salaries will be disbursed to the officers without the monthly deduction for the social security fund, and it will also include officers, non-commissioned officers and detectives.

The sources said, “The high-ranking official also affirmed that the Kuwaiti medal will be issued at a value of KD 75 per month in appreciation of their great efforts in supporting the government in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. He explained to the security leaderships in various departments that it was proposed to disburse three salaries without the medal allowance, but they eventually decided it is better for the officers to receive two full salaries without deducting the social security fund and also the medal allowance, which will be a monthly allowance of KD 75, and that the Cabinet graciously agreed to this proposal”.
