Two expats hurt in shooting

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25, (Agencies): Two expats were wounded in a shooting by a Kuwaiti citizen at Salmiya area in Hawally Governorate on Sunday, the Ministry of Interior said. Initial investigations showed that the citizen claimed that he had shot by mistake two expats by a gun owned by a friend of his, the ministry’s public relations department said in a statement. The Kuwaiti citizen has been arrested and the incident is under investigation.

A citizen, identified as Majed Jawwad, allegedly fired a gun injuring two individuals – an Egyptian who got serious head injury and a Syrian whose leg was injured. Initial investigations revealed that Jawwad fired a hunting rifle (shozan) near a fishing gear store in Salmiya and the rifle belongs to his friend. Jawwad claimed he fired the rifle by mistake as he was testing it and he did not know it was loaded.

Anti-State graffiti: The State Security System police are looking for unidentified persons for writing graffiti on a board in front of the Yemeni embassy in Jabriya, reports Al-Anba daily. As soon as the Operations Room of Interior Ministry received the report police rushed to the spot and found the State of Kuwait described as part of the Persian Gulf.
