Two Bangladeshis caught forging visas, selling one for KD 1,500 – Asian held in Salmiya with liquor

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2: The Farwaniya police have arrested two Bangladeshis identifi ed only as M.R. and D.H, for forging entry visas with the help of unidentifi ed persons and selling them for KD 1,500 each, reports Al-Rai daily.

The suspects were arrested after the Farwaniya Residence Affairs Investigation Department suspected foul play in the entry visas and Director-General of General Department for Residence Affairs Brigadier Saud Al- Khedr ordered a thorough investigation in the incident.

Initial investigations showed the two entry visas were forged. When the suspects were summoned for interrogation they admitted to the charge and pointed a finger of accusation at another man who is identified only as S.K.W. The suspects have been referred to the authorities while police are looking for the third man.

Asian held in Salmiya with liquor
The Public Relations and Security Media General Department in the Interior Ministry disclosed that a police patrol affiliated to Hawally Governorate Security Command arrested an Asian in Salmiya for the possession of 48 bottles of alcoholic drinks.

In a press statement, the department revealed the arrest happened when police stopped a car and asked for the identification documents of the driver — an Asian who opted to flee on foot but the officers caught up with him and arrested him. When the officers inspected his car, they found 48 bottles of alcohol. The department added the officials identified the suspect as, Daham Wadaar, who offered bribe of KD 952 to the officers to secure his release.

An Iranian expatriate was arrested by security operatives for theft following complaints detectives at Shuwaikh Vocational Zone police station received from several individuals who were robbed of the cash they withdrew from a bank. General Department of Public Relations and Security Media stated a team of officers was formed upon directives from the acting Director of Criminal Investigation Brigadier Muhammad Al-Sharhan after the report and investigation led to Iranian national Lafta Mehaisen Jalali born in 1962.

The suspect is said to have stalked his victims to their destinations before robbing them of their possessions. The police managed to trace him to Bneid Al-Qar area and arrested him around mid-day inside the vehicle he used in perpetrating the crime. He admitted the offense.

Guarded by search warrant, securitymen raided his home and recovered an unspecified sum, which he had hidden inside a vacuum cleaner. He was referred to the relevant authority for further investigation.
