Toyo Tires, Robinsons share top spot in FBAA 39th Conference – Aneef, Rajesh clinch Pro+Advanced crown

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 13: Some of the top players in Kuwait in the Professional & Advanced category were seen in action this week in the“1 Day Pro+Advanced Doubles Tournament” that was organised by Filipino Badminton Association in Ahmadi (FBAA) on  Friday at the Fahaheel Sports Club.

Aneef Lateef and Rajesh Vasuderan bagged championshipafter topping the standings in the Elimination Round and advanced to the semifinals with their powerful team-up and finally, emerging as the Pro+Advanced category champion, beating Jabbar Farooqi and Dr Asim Areef in the finals match in a thrilling 3 sets 17-21, 21-15, 21-20.

Meanwhile, the Toyo Tires and Robinsons Land Corporation failed to shake off each other as they continued to share the top spot at the end of the second week of matches in the  foursome team tournament, called the FBAA 39th Conference “12th Toyo Tires Badminton Cup.”

After a lot of tough games, Toyo Tires and Robinsons Land Corporation had compiled identical records of 12 match wins and 43 points to sit jointly on top. There was a slight shift in the standings as Proteins Co.-Ali Café moved up to third spot with 8 match wins and 37 points while HITCO slid to fourth place with 7 match wins and 28 points.
