Three Indians arrested in Nugra liquor factory bust; Iranian beats officer

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 26: Security operatives from Hawalli Command raided a local liquor factory in Nugra area and arrested three Indians – born in 1976, 1981 and 1984 respectively for running the factory, says Al-Seyassah. The officers seized 27 drums full of liquor and equipment used in manufacturing the contraband.

A security source said Hawalli Security Chief Abideen Al-Abideen received an intelligence concerning the illegitimate activities of a trio of liquor manufacturers converting their apartment into a factory, and team of detectives was assigned to ascertain authenticity of the information. Guarded by search and arrest warrant from the Public Prosecution, the officers raided the apartment at an appropriate time and took all three suspects into custody. They admitted the offense during investigation, saying they manufactured and distributed the contraband to their customers. They have since been referred to the concerned authority for legal action.

Iranian beats officer: A first lieutenant police officer has filed a complaint with the Dasma Police Station accusing an Iranian of insulting and beating him while on duty, reports Al- Anba daily. A security source said the Iranian is detained at Dasma Police Station and is under interrogation. The Iranian reportedly summoned the lieutenant under the excuse he wanted to tell him something, and when the latter was near him, head butted him in the nose and caused him injury although he was handcuffed.
