The Sultanate of Oman declares mourning and flags at half-mast for 3 days for the death of the late Amir of Kuwait

MUSCAT, Sep 29: The Diwan of the Royal Court of Oman announced official mourning, flags at half-mast and the suspension of work in the government and private sectors for a period of three days, starting tomorrow Wednesday, due to the death of His Highness, the late Amir of the country, the late Sheikh Sabah, God willing Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The Omani News Agency quoted the Royal Court as saying in a statement that, “Believing in God’s judgment and destiny and with the emotion and sadness of adults, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, received the news of the death of his late brother, the deceased was one of the Arab leaders who contributed with their wisdom and insight to establishing the system of justice and humanity. By losing him, the Sultanate loses a dear and loving brother.

The statement indicated that the Sultan of Oman issued orders to announce official mourning, to fly flags and to suspend work in the government and private sectors for a period of three days, starting tomorrow, Wednesday.
He stated that “as the Sultanate shares the leadership, government and people of the brothers in the State of Kuwait with their grief over their majestic misfortune, praying to God Almighty to bless the deceased with the abundance of his vast mercy and to dwell in his spaciousness with the righteous and righteous friends and to extend his generous family and the brotherly people of the State of Kuwait with the grace of patience and solace.
