The cry of ‘Jleeb’ Al-Shuyoukh

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 3: It is strange enough in the past every Kuwaiti house in olden times owned an underground storage for drinking water and this place needed to be cleaned every now and then, reports Al-Rai daily.

In those days there were professionals who would go around shouting ‘jleeb’. They were then hired by the Kuwaitis living in those areas to get their water reservoirs cleaned.

Today, ‘Jleeb’ Al-Shuyoukh cries for a different cause. The area is in dire need of cleaning the garbage which has filled large areas and around homes. But there are no ‘jleeb’ specialists around. The cry is for the government to rescue the area from pollution
