KUWAIT CITY, Dec 21: Civil Service Commission (CSC) has requested Kuwait Municipality to terminate the services of 70 non-Kuwaiti employees, reports Al-Qabas daily. In a letter sent to Municipality, the Director of Budget and Job Organization Department at CSC Aisha Al-Mutawa stated that CSC has reported there are 70 non- Kuwaiti employees included in the replacement policy for the fiscal year of 2018/2019 in the municipality’s budget, indicating that Ministry of Finance will be addressed in this regard.

Meanwhile, sources from Kuwait Municipality revealed that the termination of the services of 70 employees is difficult as this is a big number compared to the total number of employees, which are 430 working under second contract and 250 under special contracts.

They pointed out the termination of services of some employees based on legal retirement age, death, and transfer of services of veterinarians to Public Authority for Food and Nutrition. The sources clarified that, as per CSC’s letter, the decision to terminate the services of the non-Kuwaiti employees should be issued on Jan 2, 2018 due to the notice period of three months.
