Tender for renting buses with drivers

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3: The Ministry of Finance has agreed to complete the procedures for issuing a tender for renting buses with drivers to transport students from schools of Hawally, Capital and Farwaniya educational zones, religious education institutes, and special education schools, as well as transportation escorts in special education buses, at a cost of more than KD 16 million for a period of three years, reports Al- Anba daily.
This was stated in a letter sent by the Ministry of Finance to the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education Dr. Ali Al-Yacoub. Dr. Al-Yacoub responded in the following manner, “This is with reference to your letter dated 3/7/2022 regarding the request for approval to complete the aforementioned tender procedures at a total amount of KD 16,093,866, according to what was mentioned in the letter and its attachments. It is also according to what was discussed in the meeting held on 20/7/2022 in the Ministry of Finance in the presence of specialists from the Ministry of Education and in coordination with the specialists of the Ministry of Finance’s General Storage Affairs in this regard. We would like to inform you the following:
1. Approval to start taking appropriate measures for offering the tender referred above for a period of three years at a total amount of KD 16,093,866, taking into account what was stated in law No. 74/2019 amending some provisions of law No. 49/2016 regarding public tenders, and the Ministry of Finance’s circular No. 5/2019/2020 regarding procurement systems for government agencies, and after obtaining the approvals of the concerned authorities and in a manner that does not conflict with the regulations and systems in force in this regard.
2. Instruct your specialists to include the cost of the tender in your draft budget for the 2023/2024 fiscal year and subsequent projects, each in its own merit, so that we can take the necessary action in this regard. Provide us with copies of the contracts upon signing them.
