KUWAIT CITY, June 29: Tech assaulted: Police are looking for a young Kuwaiti for assaulting the technician inside a cell phone shop in Jahra, reports Al-Rai daily. The technician has filed a complaint with the Jahra Police Station and submitted a medical report showing bruises on his body. In his complaint the technician said the suspect entered his shop and asked him to repair his cell phone. The technician then suggested that he should delete some files and the latter agreed, but after deleting some pictures, the Kuwaiti got angry and assaulted him. The complainant has provided police the suspect’s car plate number.
Police nab thief: The Hawally police have arrested an unidentified Asian for stealing electric wires and copper cables from abandoned buildings and buildings under construction, reports Al-Anba daily. The arrest came after a Kuwaiti saw the man breaking the door of a room in an abandoned building in broad daylight and informed the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry. The thief was caught in the act while attempting to break open the door. Police have seized from him tools used in committing thefts — a heavy duty screw driver, cutting tools and other items.
Cam traps robber: Police have arrested an unidentified person for breaking into the car of a Kuwaiti, reports Al-Rai daily. The arrest came after the Kuwaiti who has installed a CCTV camera in his house saw the suspect getting in the car. The Kuwaiti then provided the CCTV footage to the Fintas Police Station. The suspect is a criminal and was wanted by law in connection with theft cases.
Smuggling bid foiled: Customs officers at the Abdali border post recently foiled an attempt of an Iraqi coming from Irbil to smuggle ancient manuscripts into the, reports Al-Shahed daily. According to customs officers, the manuscripts were found hidden in a secret pocket of one of the bags. When asked about the source, the Iraqi said he bought the manuscripts from one of the merchants in his country and was planning to sell them in Kuwait. The suspect has been referred by the authorities.
