Team nab Sri Lankan involved in drug peddling

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 29: An Asian expatriate was arrested in possession of three kilograms of heroin, one kilogram of methamphetamine and 10,000 narcotic pills.

According to a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, when the Drug Control General Department received information about a Sri Lankan expatriate involved in drug peddling, a team was formed for investigations.

After confirming the information and taking necessary legal measures, the team raided the suspect’s house and arrested him in possession of the abovementioned drugs as well as a weighing scale used for drugs and a large number of empty sachets. When questioned, the suspect confessed that he has been smuggling drugs in order to sell them to drug addicts in the country. He was referred with the confiscated items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action
