Students across India erupts in protest against police brutality

NEW DELHI, Dec 16 (KUNA) — Hundreds of thousands of students from across Indian universities joined protests on Monday as the news of brutal police attack on students of the Jamia Milia Islamia campus in Delhi spread across the country.


Thousands of students from Jawaharlal Nehru University and Delhi University protested in front of the Delhi Police Headquarters last night demanding release of the students detained during the protests in Jamia Milia Islamia.


Students from Aligarh Muslim University in Utter Pradesh, Maulana Azad University in Hyderabad of Telangana state, Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai came out in large numbers today to register their support to the students of Jamia Milia Islamia and demanded to scrap the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act that discriminated against the Muslims.


Students from the Benaras Hindu University, Jadavpur University University and other universities from Varanasi, Kolkata, Puducherry, Lucknow and Mumbai came out in support of their fellow students.
Students from various universities gathered in front of the police headquarters in Delhi and forces the police to release 35 Jamia students detained since Sunday evening from the premises of the university
