Stranded Egyptian teachers will not lose jobs

KUWAIT CITY, July 21: Members of the teaching staff, who are stranded in Egypt, have been reassured that they will not lose their jobs as their services will not be terminated in case they cannot return to Kuwait before the resumption of classes, reports Al-Rai daily quoting a source from the educational sector.

The source affirmed the situation of the abovementioned teachers will be settled soon; while their leave will be considered with an acceptable excuse, but without pay.

The source disclosed the teachers will work from home (online education), unless there is a change in the Ministry of Education’s plan that obliges them to attend classes.

The source pointed out that the picture remains unclear; hence, the need for the Public Education Sector to issue a detailed bulletin on the application of online education in all academic levels.
