Son shoots his father to death; killer’s death sentence upheld

KUWAIT CITY, May 21: A young bedoun has reportedly shot his father to death and escaped, reports Al-Rai daily. The incident happened in Al-Firdous. According to a security source, disputes between the son and his father are behind the crime. The source added, “The injured father was taken to the hospital, where he died,” and the criminal men moved to the scene of the crime after informing the prosecution to remove the effects. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department are looking for the escaped killer.

Death sentence upheld: The Court of Appeals, headed by Judge Nasr Al-Haid, upheld the death sentence imposed on a man who murdered his sister and her unborn child in the intensive care unit at Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital, reports Al-Qabas daily. The court commuted the sentence of another brother charged with attempted murder from life imprisonment to 15 years in prison. In another case, the Court of Cassation upheld the life imprisonment imposed on a citizen who killed his wife in Ardiya.
