Snapchat user arrested for spreading rumors

KUWAIT CITY, March 19: The Directorate General of Public Relations and Security Media Department at the Ministry of Interior has announced that the security services in a preemptive strike arrested the owner of the Snapchat account believed to be responsible for spreading rumors and false news in the country to create panic and confusion among Kuwaitis and expatriates, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The ministry announced in a press statement that the interrogations with the suspect are ongoing and that the suspect has provided many important clues and vital information which can help the security authorities arrest others rumormongers especially since the suspect had used his account as a platform to spreading panic in the country.

The Ministry of Interior has once again called on citizens and residents to get information only from official sources.
