Skeet shooting competition begins

KUWAIT CITY, March 24 His Highness the Amir’s Grand Prix International Shooting Championship for men and women skeet shooting competitions began today at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Range Complex where Arab and foreign players are participating.

The qualifying rounds were held between the participants in two competitions, each of them flung 75 clay discs. The finals will be held tomorrow where the target will be 50 clay discs among 6 top shooters in two competitions where winners will be decided.

The head of the Egyptian and African federations, Hazem Hosni, said in a statement to reporters that the Kuwaiti Shooting Club’s organization of this tournament is great which is held after a two-year break due to the pandemic of the new Corona virus (Covid 19), it is a great success for the Kuwaiti shooting sport where around 200 shooters representing 20 Arab and international teams are participating.

Hosni further stated that this prestigious tournament is a suitable opportunity for Arab shooters to interact with world champions, considering that four Arab shooters have achieved various medals so far is a good thing for Arab shooting which is till now best achievements in the largest international and Olympic forums.
