Six Ethiopians held for running bogus domestic labor office – Bangladeshi caught forging work permits

KUWAIT CITY, March 30: Officers from the General Department of Residence Investigations raided a bogus domestic labor bureau in Mahboula area run by six Ethiopians who were arrested during the raid.

According to a press release, the department, after receiving a tip-off about the bogus office involved in activities of deception and fraud targeting citizens and expatriates, gathered information to verify the allegations.

Armed with search and arrest warrant, the officers raided the office and arrested six Ethiopians, discovering that there are involved in several cases including absconding. They were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal measures.

Meanwhile, detectives from the same department arrested two Bangladeshi expatriates for forging work permits to bring Bangladeshi workers to the country at a cost. The arrest came after a person reported that he was cheated by the duo when they claimed that they are able to get work permits at a cost.

Intensive investigations were carried out and the security teams discovered that the suspects have been producing work permits and sending them to Bangladesh.

When they checked the systems, the work permits were found to have been forged. The suspects were arrested and referred to concerned authorities for necessary legal measures.
