Sharia and closed minds

Whenever we take a half-step towards progress, civilization, reason and logic, the forces of backwardness force is to take two steps backwards, and to an era that is past and over.

A deputy appeared in all of his Western outfit, woven, sewn, ironed, and prepared in the factories of infidels countries, and his appearance is almost in line with the times, unlike his untidy ideological beard that does not correspond to the age but with his stances and logic only, to inform the media, from behind the podium in Parliament that he will present a proposal for a law preventing the issuance of any law in the future unless it is in conformity with Islamic Sharia (Again?).

I don’t know from where these people get such proposals which have been outdated since four decades?

First, and for the information of the deputy Dr Al-Mutairi, nearly forty years ago our very distinguished government established a “permanent committee to reconsider, review and Islamize all issued laws.

After four decades and spending tens of millions of dinars which went into the pockets of a group of virtuous people who did nothing, the government decided to cancel the permanent committee and make it as if it had not been because it was unable, despite all the “great minds” that were found in it, to do something other than presenting a study on how to fight satellite dishes, and another proposal related to solving the economic problem, and almost nothing else, after they received millions in the form of salaries, bonuses and luxury travel in exchange for offering nothing.

Then a deputy comes today to repeat the request to hear the same broken record.

Second: Kuwait officially follows the Maliki school of thought. There is another recognition of the Twelver Ja’afari sect, and both sides have Sharia courts. However, there is a large percentage of citizens who follow other schools of thought, such as Shafi’i, Hanbali, and Maliki, and the presenter of the proposal in particular has an “unpleasant opinion” about all of them, just as others have different opinions.

If a committee was formed within the National Assembly to review any law submitted to the parliament before its approval to make sure that it is consistent with the Sharia, how would its members be chosen, and on the basis of which doctrine?

What if there is a text in a new law that is acceptable to Sunnis, Maliki, and unacceptable by Shiites or by other schools of thought, will it be legally imposed on everyone?

Note:

Your Highness the Prime Minister

A member of the Al-Sabah family, the director of a government agency, publicly slapped a security man, and broke his mobile phone. The incident was recorded on social media and watched by millions. We wish Your Highness to intervene, so that this beautiful country does not turn into a forest. In the same context, we ask: Where are the Human Rights Associations and Council in the face of this crime, or are they empty structures?
