Sha’alani stars at 2016 Amir horse racing tourney

Horse Sha’alani from Al-Nashama stable ridden by Tawfiq won the most precious trophy in 2016 Amir horse racing tournament in the 2400 meters race.

The stiff competition was between Al-Nashama, Al-Osaimi and Al-Juhail stables, and being the center of attention saw Al-Nashama to the finals; thus, winning the cup after three years of absence ever since the last victory in 2012.

Al-Osaimi also won the last edition of the trophy but fell into second place this time around, while horse Jazzam ridden by McCarthy won third place, followed by horse Eshq from Al-Juhail stable ridden by Louis in the fourth position.

It is noteworthy Al-Nashama stable won most of the contests in the remaining part of the competitions.

Sheikh Faisal Al-Hamoud presented the trophy to owners of Al-Nashama stable. Congratulating them, Sheikh Dhari Al-Fahad presented a memorabilia plaque to the representatives of HH the Amir, Sheikh Faisal al-Hamoud, to appreciate his presence.

The organizers expressed gratitude and appreciation to HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for sponsoring the tournament each year. They were also thankful for the love shown to the equestrian sport. The Amir was represented by Governor of Farwaniya Sheikh Faisal Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah.

Dignitaries present at the event included the owner of Bayan stable Sheikh Fahad Al-Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, president of Kuwait Equestrian club Sheikh Dhari Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, secretary general of the club and owner of Al-Abraq stable Sheikh Sabah Al-Fahad and several other prominent figures in the sport, in the midst of a large crowd of spectators.
