Romanian ‘tourist’ couple held for prostitution on day one; Filipina raped twice

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3: Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department arrested a Romanian prostitute and a compatriot pimp, reports Al-Rai daily. A security source revealed the arrest happened on July 31, when police received information on two Romanians who were granted tourist visa upon arrival at the airport and then went to an apartment-hotel in Salmiya to start their illegal activity.

Acting on the information and armed with a warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, a team of detectives raided the apartment-hotel and arrested the suspects. Investigations revealed the prostitute planned to engage in flesh trade to collect KD 250 from each ‘customer’ but she was arrested along with the pimp on the first night of their illegal business

Filipina raped twice: Police arrested an Egyptian man for raping a Filipina twice, reports Al-Anba daily. The Filipina lodged a complaint with Khaitan Police Station, saying she was invited by a friend who resides in the area and sent her an Egyptian driver to take her from Jahra to the latter’s home.

However, the driver took her to a remote area where he had forced sex with her and left her in the desert. During interrogation, the Egyptian driver said the act was consensual. He was referred to the competent authorities for further questioning and other measures.

New born baby dumped: Police officers rescued a new-born baby covered with a piece of cloth inside a small bag placed on the walkway of a building in Farwaniya area. Security sources said the Operations Room received report concerning the new-born baby and the officers together with paramedics went to the scene and did the needful. Investigation is in progress to determine who the parents are.
