Revoke membership of 2 MPs, demands citizen

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 19: The Constitutional Court chaired by consultant Yousef Al Mutawa will look into two appeals filed by a Kuwaiti citizen identified as Mohammad Talal Al Saeed to revoke the parliamentary membership of Dr Waleed Al Tabtabaei and Dr Jamman Al Harbash, citing Article 16 of the internal regulations of the National Assembly after the recent vote to keep membership of the two lawmakers.

The court is to review two appeals filed by the citizen from 3rd constituency who questions the constitutionality of the process of retaining the two lawmakers’ seats, indicating membership of the duo was automatically revoked after they were sentenced to a jail term.
