Replace old-timers with youth

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 17: The Ministry of Public Works (MPW) has asked the Public institution for Social Security (PIFSS) and Civil Service Commission (CSC) to prepare the list of ministry employees whose service period exceeded 32 years in preparation for their retirement, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources.

Sources explained the ministry took this step in a bid to appoint young employees to improve the fl ow of work, indicating the list will most probably be ready by the end of this month. On the other hand, the ministry formed an investigation committee consisting of experts to assess the works completed at Darwazat Al-Abd Al-Razzaq Tunnel to ensure strict compliance with the safety regulations and provisions of the contract. According to sources, the ministry took this step to address disputes over the report of an expert in the agency tasked to follow up the government’s performance that the mechanism for repairing the tunnel is wrong and dangerous.
