Regulatory and health measures delays flight of domestic workers to Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 14: First flight carrying domestic workers which was scheduled to arrive on Monday 4 am early morning from India was postponed to Tuesdays due to some issues in organizing health measures at Indian airports. 


The sources said that implementation of a plan for return of domestic workers is going on well and have not faced any obstacles with any of the parties. The coordination is still continuing whether with India or other countries for the return of domestic workers.

Informed sources at Kuwait Airport confirmed that the technical measures that were required by the Indian Ministry of Health to be corrected for travelers in order to resume domestic workers flights from India from Wednesday, the numbers passengers coming on daily basis will not exceed 600 domestic workers.

The main goal of this plan is to reduce the burden and the cost for Kuwaiti citizens who wish return of their maids, in addition to that direct travel from high-risk countries to Kuwait in accordance to health measures along with institutional quarantine in Kuwait with 3 PCR tests, first before departure, second after arrival in Kuwait and third at end of quarantine period before leaving quarantine facility.

Two flights were scheduled to arrive on Monday morning from India through Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways, but due to but due to some regulatory and health measures at Indian airports both the flights had to be postponed for Tuesday.

The first flight of Kuwait Airways from Manila will arrive on Tuesday morning followed by flights coming from India.
