Rape bid in lift on Ethiopian woman

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 11: An unknown individual tried to rape an Ethiopian woman inside the elevator of a residential building in Mangaf area, reports Al-Shahed daily. According to sources, when the victim entered the lift, the suspect grabbed her and tried to rape her.

However, hearing the victim’s screams, her sponsor came to her rescue but the suspect managed to escape. A case has been registered and investigations are ongoing to find the assailant.

Meanwhile, an Arab expatriate was arrested at Kuwait International Airport on Wednesday for attempting to smuggle three sachets of heroin which was hidden in his luggage.

Asian held with liquor: An Asian expatriate was arrested in Ahmadi area in possession of four bottles of locally manufactured liquor, says Al-Seyassah. According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen were patrolling the area when they suspected an Asian expatriate who was walking with the heavy backpack. They stopped him and checked the backpack to find four liquor bottles. He was arrested and referred with the liquor bottles to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.
