Rain-time pool claims 1 victim

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 23: A Kuwaiti in his twenties died after his vehicle hit with the fence of one of Al-Wafra farms and fell into a big pool of water at dawn Monday, reports Al-Rai daily. After a report was received from the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior emergency medical personnel and firemen rushed to the spot but nothing could be done to rescue the young man. A case was registered after the body and vehicle were removed out of the water.

Meanwhile, firefighting teams managed to rescue 11 people from a building fire in Salmiya, reports Al-Rai daily. The Public Relations and Media Department of the Directorate-General of Fire Department (DGFD) stated after it received a report about on the eighth floor of a nine-storey residential building in Salmiya area fire engines from Al-Bida’a and Salmiya fire centers rushed to the spot and rescued 11 people and handed them over to the emergency medical staff.
