PSA celebrates successful season with Gala Presentation Evening – More than 450 players and guests fill Salwa Sabah Al-Ahmad Theatre and Hall for the celebratory gathering

KUWAIT CITY, May 16: The Premier Sport Academy in association with Everton F.C. and under the sponsorship of Porsche Centre Kuwait, Behbehani Motors Company and Sports Direct, held their Gala Presentation Evening Season 2015-16 at the Marina Hotel this week.

More than 450 players and guests filled the Salwa Sabah Al-Ahmad Theatre and Hall for the celebratory gathering, which was attended by the Guest of Honor Group Captain Finlay McLean, Defense Attaché, British Embassy. The event convened with the playing of the national anthems of Kuwait and the United Kingdom. Several other prominent guests including Joey Hood, Deputy Chief of Mission, American Embassy Kuwait and representatives from the German and Spanish Embassies were in attendance. During the evening, more than 150 prestigious awards were presented to selected players, coaches and sponsors at the end of a tremendously successful season of training courses, matches, festivals, tournaments and special events involving over 500 young players.

Over 120 of these players, aged from 6 to 18 years, were nominated by their coaches to receive awards in several categories, including: Most Outstanding, Most Improved, Most Sporting, Top Goalkeeper, Top Trainer, Star Player, Coaches Award and Centre of Excellence Team Player. These players demonstrated an abundance of hard work, dedication, commitment, high standards of performance and conduct over the course of the season to earn their rewards.

Further awards were given to players involved in the Girls Coaching Courses and Community Program. All the players were presented with trophies by Group Captain McLean and Joey Hood, Deputy Chief of the USA Embassy. Many surprise gifts including Bicycles, Cameras, Watches, Sports Equipment, Gift Vouchers and Match Footballs were also provided by the awards sponsors, Porsche Centre Kuwait, Behbehani Motors Company and Sports Direct. Original dug out chairs from Manchester United F.C. and a set of EPL Champions, Leicester City shirts were also auctioned during the event. Academy Director Mike Finn and Executive Director Baker Al-Nazer thanked the coaching team, sponsors and supporters for all their assistance in making the season such an enjoyable and successful one for everyone involved with the P.S.A., before a sumptuous buffet dinner was enjoyed by all.
