Price rise on Food and drinks in Oct

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 23: The inflation rate or the general index of consumer prices in Kuwait recorded an increase of 0.32 percent during the month of October, driven by the increase in the prices of some major items affecting the movement of indices, to record an annual increase of 3.27 percent, compared to 3.19 percent in September, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to the consumer price index report issued by the Central Statistical Bureau for the month of October, the food and beverage item witnessed an increase of 0.89 percent compared to the previous month and 6.63 percent on an annual basis, as a result of the increase in the prices of the cereals, bread, meat, poultry, fish, seafood, cheese, eggs, oils and fats, fresh, frozen and dried fruits and vegetables, sugar and its products, and other food items.

Also, there was an increase in the prices of cigarettes by 0.07 percent in October, and clothing and apparel by 0.64 percent. The categories of housing, transportation, education, restaurants and hotels recorded stability during the month of October.
