‘Prepare a comprehensive plan to face hike in prices of commodities’

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 17, (Agencies): The Cabinet has instructed Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr Yusuf Al-Ali to prepare a comprehensive plan to face increase in the prices of other commodities, if any, once its decision to raise fuel prices takes effect by the beginning of September, reports Al- Shahed daily quoting sources.

Sources revealed Al-Ali was asked to form a tripartite committee consisting of members from the ministries of Interior, Commerce and Industry and Kuwait Municipality.

Sources added this committee will regulate the prices of commodities in order to protect the consumers. Sources said the Cabinet also stressed the need for the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to prevent traders from taking advantage of the fuel price hike.
