KUWAIT CITY, May 7: The Premier Sport Academy in association with Everton FC, under the sponsorship of Porsche Centre Kuwait, Behbehani Motors Company, held their annual Spring Festival of Football and Basketball event at Bayan Park over the weekend.

The event was sponsored by Porsche Centre Kuwait and attracted more than 1,000 boys and girls between the ages of 3 and 18 and included teams from the P.S.A./Everton Coaching Courses and Everton Centre of Excellence alongside other teams such as Lycee Francais, Franco, Don Bosco, Al Ahli, Durrar Club, Riggae, Hilton Kuwait Resort, Mangaf and teams from other private schools and academies from across Kuwait.

This year’s event was supported by an increased number of parents and spectators who were present to cheer, motivate and provide morale support to the young players. The young players in turn demonstrated great discipline, sportsmanship and skill reflecting their commitment to the sport. The young players were guided by their respective coaches and teachers who mentored them through a series of exciting football and basketball matches.

Another educational highlight during the event was the Porsche Kids Driving School, where the children took time out from the football game to drive Porsche pedal cars around a specially designed road circuit with the overarching aim of instilling and indoctrinating the concept of road and traffic safety at a young age.

The event ended with James McGuire the First Secretary of the British Embassy, and several other VIP guests presenting medals to all participants, as well as certificates of appreciation to event sponsors and supporters.

James McGuire expressed his appreciation and recognition for the collective effort behind such an important community event, and congratulated all the players and coaches who took part in the event. Presentations were made to the event sponsors Porsche Centre Kuwait, Behbehani Motors Company, Sports Direct, MoveOne, Tim Hortons Cafe, Unilever — Walls Ice Creams and all the contributors including; Kuwait National Bottling Co (Pepsi and Aquafina), Gulf Trading and Refrigerating Co (Mars Div), Light Food Co (Mickey Snax), Salwa Co-op Restaurant and Fun Archery.

The P.S.A. Summer Course commenced on 15th April 2016 at Bayan and everyone is welcome to participate in this programme. There will be courses in Football and Basketball available for children aged between 3 to 18 years.
