KUWAIT CITY, March 15: Deputy Director of Judicial Arrest and member of the Bachelors Committee and Joint Committee on Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh at the Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) Ahmad Al-Shammari disclosed that the latest statistics showed disconnection of electricity of 370 buildings since the beginning of the campaign for bachelors living in family residences; indicating the action was taken after the erring building owners refused to heed warnings sent to them earlier, reports Al-Jarida daily.

Al-Shammari affirmed the ministry plays a pivotal role in the activities of the Joint Committee on Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, which was formed based on Ministerial Decision number 666. He said the committee consists of members from some ministries and government departments and they work daily; hence, the success of the committee.

He revealed that the committee disconnected electricity from 427 buildings in Jleeb Al-Shoyoukh as bachelors were found to be living there, along with people engaged in activities deemed a violation of the rules and regulations of Kuwait Municipality. He said 332 of these violations were due to the presence of bachelors, while the remaining 95 buildings were involved in forbidden activities.
