Police raid Jleeb ‘vice’ den, free scores of Asian women – Egyptian mandoub sells 168 visas for KD 800 each

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 29: Acting on information and after taking all legal procedures, securitymen from the Immigration Department raided a vice and gambling den in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and freed scores of Asian females who were kidnapped and forced into prostitution, reports Al- Shahed daily. Securitymen managed to break open the metal doors and nabbed 17 men and women who run the den and referred them to relevant authorities.

Shock over ‘168 workers’: A Kuwaiti man and his son were shocked when they found out that 168 expatriates are under their sponsorship as workers in their two farms in Abdali and Sulaibiya without their knowledge, reports Al-Rai daily. The father and his son were summoned by the Residency Affairs Department and investigations revealed that an Egyptian mandoub (company representative), who left for his home country last February, forged documents through which the expatriates were granted residency. The expatriates paid KD 800 each through a compatriot middleman who received money ranging from KD 100 to KD 150 for each residency. A case of forgery was registered and referred to relevant authorities for further investigation and other legal action.

Concert has no license: In compliance with the instructions of the director of Public Security Affairs Department in the Interior Ministry, Salmiya police foiled an attempt to hold an unlicensed concert in a complex along Arabian Gulf Street in Salmiya, reports Al-Anba daily. When interrogated, the organizer claimed to have obtained approval from the interior minister but police went ahead with the removal of the stage, tables and seats.
