Police arrests individual shooting at US embassy in Ankara

ANKARA, Dec 20 (KUNA) — An armed individual, who opened fire at the US embassy in the Turkish capital, was disarmed and arrested by the police, said a security source Tuesday.

According to the Anadolu Agency, a police source said that the perpetrator was seen committing the act near the US embassy.

The individual fired several rounds at the diplomatic mission before being disarmed and detained, said the police.

This incident came hours after the fatal shooting which killed Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov at a photo exhibition.
