Philippine Embassy bag Elite Cup championship title – Cozmo Team finish second as Kuwait Fire & Security Directorate take third spot

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 19:  The Philippine Embassy team bagged the championship cup in the 2016 Elite Bowling Cup Ministries & Companies that was hosted by Kuwait Authority for Sports and organised by the Cozmo Bowling & Entertainment Management Co. The Philippine Embassy team toppled the other seven competing teams such as the Ministry of Interior (MOI), Ministry of Education (MOE), Ministry of Electricity & Water (MEW), Kuwait Fire & Security Directorate (KFSD), Indian Bowling Club Community, Cozmo Bowling Company and Kuwait Bankers Bowling Association.

The tournament with singles, doubles, teams and masters event format was held at the Cozmo Bowling Centre in Salmiya for three consecutive Saturdays that kicked off on Aug 20 and culminated with the championship games on Sept 6.

Trailing behind the Philippine Embassy team was the Cozmo Team followed by the Kuwait Fire & Security Directorate on the second runner-up spot.

“This is the first time that we have invited the Philippine Embassy to take part in this annual event and we would like to thank Ambassador Renato Pedro Villa for his support. Congratulations to the Philippine Embassy team. A well-deserved win!” stated Ayad Al Amiri, Cozmo Overall Director and Training Manager.

The Representative of Kuwait Authority for Sports and Cozmo Management Officers and Organisers awarded the Philippine Embassy team composed of Philippine Bowling Association of Kuwait (PBAK) members Rudy De Lima (team captain), Tony Zuleta, Camilo Baker and Mar Evangelista with the team trophy, cash, gold medals and the Cozmo Bowling Seal trophy to be kept at the Philippine Embassy as a memento. Present also during the awarding ceremony was Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait Renato Pedro Villa who in turn handed a plaque of recognition to each of the team members in appreciation of the teams invaluable contribution in bringing honour to the Philippines and Filipinos in Kuwait and across the globe.

“Congratulations to the Philippine Embassy team and we would like to thank them for the great play and for winning the championship, making all Filipinos proud. Thank you to Cozmo and the Kuwait Authority for Sports for organising this event,” stated Villa.
