Pakistani suffers from electric shock, loses consciousness; Bangladeshi held with drugs

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 10: A Pakistani electrician in his 40s lost consciousness after suffering from an electric shock that would have taken his life had he not been taken to the hospital immediately, reports Al-Seyassah daily According to sources, the victim was repairing a technical fault inside a citizen’s house in West Mishref when he discovered the fault was inside a cable in the meter box. While talking to the owner of house, he started cutting the wires without realizing that he did not turn off the electrical supply. He was electrocuted and he passed out. The citizen immediately notified the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior and paramedics rushed to the location in record time. They administered First Aid but they eventually took him to Mubarak Hospital after realizing his condition required intensive care. He was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit in serious condition.

Youth held with girlfriend: A Kuwaiti youth and his 20-year old Kuwaiti girlfriend were arrested in Salmiya area in possession of three Captagon pills, reports Al-Shahed daily. Hawally securitymen were patrolling Arabian Gulf Street when they suspected a vehicle with two occupants and followed it until it stopped in front of a café in Salmiya area. They asked the motorist for his driving license and car registration document, discovering that he is a Kuwaiti citizen. When they noticed a young girl in the car, they enquired about her and the youth said the girl is his cousin. Securitymen checked her details to discover she is a 20 year-old Kuwaiti citizen who was reported as absconding. She denied that she was in a relationship with the youth. When they asked her to step out of the vehicle, they noticed three Captagon pills on her seat. The suspects were arrested and referred to concerned authorities for necessary legal measures. A case was filed against the youth for hiding an absconding person and possessing drugs.

Taxi driver arrested: A Bangladeshi taxi driver was arrested in Ardiya area in possession of a sachet of methamphetamine which he was planning to deliver to one of his Egyptian customers, reports Al-Shahed daily. Farwaniya securitymen were patrolling Ardiya area when they ordered a taxi driver to pull over based on suspicions. However, the driver alighted from the taxi and ran in a vain attempt to escape from the officers. While doing so, securitymen noticed him throw away a sachet from his pocket. However, they managed to catch him and confiscate the sachet he dumped. They checked it to find methamphetamine inside. When questioned, he revealed that he was on his way to an Egyptian customer to deliver the drug. He was arrested and referred to the concerned authorities.

Egyptian held for drugs: A 1978-born Egyptian expatriate was arrested in possession of 60 pills of Rosh drug, 20 grams of heroin and 10 grams of methamphetamine as well as drug paraphernalia. In a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the General Department of Public Relations and Media Security explained that the officers from Farwaniya Police Station arrested the suspect, who works as a medicine distributer at a local company, in possession of the drugs. When questioned, he confessed that he was planning to use some of the drugs and sell the rest. He was referred with the seized drugs to the Drugs Control General Department for necessary legal action. Meanwhile, three Arab expatriates were arrested by Special Taskforce officers in possession of three sachets of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, reports Al-Shahed daily. The officers also arrested 12 expatriates from GCC, Arab and Asian countries after discovering that they are wanted by law for various cases such criminal cases, residency violation and financial cases. All arrested expatriates were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them. Also, a Kuwaiti citizen was arrested in Nuzha area for drunken driving and possessing two sachets of Chemical drug, reports Al-Shahed daily. Capital securitymen were patrolling Nuzha area when they noticed a man commit a traffic violation related to lane discipline. They ordered him to pull over but he was unable to control the vehicle, forcing the officers to help him. They checked his details to discover he is a Kuwaiti citizen. Sensing his disoriented state, they searched him and the vehicle to discover two sachets of Chemical drug. They arrested him and referred him with the drug to the concerned authorities.

Citizen cheated of KD 15,000: A 30-year old Kuwaiti citizen filed a trust-betrayal case against an Arab businessman, accusing him of fraud, reports Al-Shahed daily. The victim revealed that the businessman collected KD 15,000 from him after convincing him to invest in a commercial project, which later turned out to be bogus. After receiving the money, the suspect switched off his mobile phone and disappeared with the money. Investigations have been launched to find and arrest the suspect. Meanwhile, a 40-year old Bedoun man was arrested in Hassawi area in possession of 60 narcotic pills and sharp tools used for breaking into cars, reports Al-Anba daily.
