KUWAIT CITY, Oct 1: A Pakistani government official put himself in an embarrassing situation after he was caught by a CCTV camera stealing the wallet of a member of a visiting Kuwaiti delegation who apparently forgot or left it for a while at a conference table, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to the CCTV footage, the Pakistani official, identified as Z. Khan (the joint secretary for investment facilitation) stood alone next to a table in a conference room on which there was a wallet, ensured he is unnoticed, and then stretched out his hand, picked up the wallet and inserted it in his pocket and left the place quietly, pretending nothing had happened. It was reported that the incident happened last Friday during a meeting of a joint ministerial committee between Kuwait and Pakistan.

The Kuwaiti government delegation was on a twoday official visit, and the reports did not reveal the identity of the member of the Kuwaiti delegation. However, the report stated that security officials had checked the records of the CCTV cameras after the member complained that he had lost his wallet. The report also stated that all the officials of the Ministry of Industry Affairs and members of the Economic Affairs Department, as well as other participants were shocked when the Kuwaiti delegation complained about the loss of the wallet.
