KUWAIT CITY, Oct 16: The Public Authority for Industry closed 4 factories because during several visits to the facilities the authority inspectors did not find anyone on the premises because the factories were apparently shut by the stakeholder for unknown reasons, reports Al-Jarida daily. The Permanent Committee for Industrial Violations and the memorandum of the Industrial Inspection Department indicated that these factories were in violation of executive regulations and the business activity can continue only after the removed.

The sources added, if the violations are not cleared within a month from the date of issuance, the owners will have to pay a heavy penalty. On the other hand, the authority has formed a permanent committee under the name permanent committee for the appointment of conformity assessment body, which is concerned with setting the minimum standards and requirements that are used to evaluate and appoint conformity assessment bodies (inspection body, certification body for products, laboratories and others) related to work on the activities necessary to implement the requirements of technical regulations and documents related to the appointment.

The committee formed by Ministerial Resolution No. 20 of 2022 is concerned with reviewing and updating the regulations and evidence for appointment, studying requests and documents received from the conformity assessment bodies for appointment, and forming a working team with expertise and representatives for control, inspection and evaluation of the appointment processes, in addition to evaluation, inspection and periodic follow-up on the advanced conformity assessment bodies. for the appointment and the appointed entities to ensure the integrity of the recruitment processes, and have a random review of the appointment files; To ensure its integrity, and take the decision to appoint the applicant as an acceptable body authorized to carry out the necessary conformity verification procedures
