PAFN destroys 79 kilos of expired foodstuff

KUWAIT CITY, April 9: The Inspection Unit in the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN) in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate inspected cooperative societies and food shops in Sabah Al-Salem, resulting in the destruction of 79 kilos of expired foodstuff and issuance of three citations for various violations.

Director of Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate Abdullah Ahmad Abbas disclosed the inspection led to the destruction of expired food items including cheese, vegetables and cooking oil. He added three citations were issued for selling food items not fit for human consumption, noncompliance with health and safety conditions in handling food, and substandard storage of foodstuff.
