KUWAIT CITY, July 11: Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) has announced that it has introduced the ‘My Identity’ application as a temporary alternative to the Civil ID and can be used to complete all transactions, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting reliable PACI sources.
The daily added, expatriates whose residence permits have been renewed while they are outside the country can download the application and use it at their country’s airports when they return to Kuwait even if the validity on their Civil ID has expired.
The same sources said those who leave the country now and have renewed their residence permit during the lockdown period but did not receive their Civil IDs can return using the same ‘My Identity’ application and then collect their ID cards after they return to the country.
PACI has, meanwhile, fl oated a bid for the delivery of Civil ID cards to the homes and workplaces of citizens and residents, through a specialized company, with the aim of ensuring the process is automated and accurate without any form of human or manual error at any of the stages of delivery, reports Aljarida daily.
According to a source from PACI, it will be obligated to collect KD 2 for each successful delivery in order to cover the expenses and all that is necessary to finish the contracted works. If there is more than one card for the same references, no more than KD 0.250 will be added for each card.
This value will be taken from the people who submitted requests to deliver the card, provided that the company determines a lump sum for each successful delivery without calculating any percentage on PACI from the value of additional cards for the same references. The source said the delivery process will include cards that were issued previously and currently present at PACI.
He revealed that there are more than 80,000 Civil ID cards, in addition to the cards that will be issued successively, which are estimated to be about 10,000 cards per day, indicating that this service is optional and not compulsory.
The source explained that the company wishing to participate in the bid is obligated, according to the conditions laid down by PACI, to provide a special system for managing the home and workplace delivery process in all its stages.
It will start with establishing an automated interface with PACI and downloading all requests for delivery that are submitted by the clients via online to the relevant system for processing the delivery of the Civil ID cards.
They will then be transferred directly to the call center of the company to communicate with the clients and confirm the requests as well as obtain the necessary information to complete the service.
Then the requests will be transferred to PACI’s database to prepare the Civil ID cards to be referred to the company’s team for delivery. PACI stressed the need for the company wishing to enter the bidding to provide a sufficient number of specialized employees and delegates in order to complete 2,000 deliveries per day, with the possibility of increasing these numbers to 4,000, and then to 6,000 per day eventually
