KUWAIT CITY, Dec 29: More than 500 securitymen, including 100 police officers from the Interior Ministry, carried out an intensive security crackdown in Ardiya Industrial Area on Tuesday; resulting in the arrest of 545 people involved in various crimes. The crackdown is in compliance with the directive of Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled under the supervision of Undersecretary Lieutenant General Sulaiman Al-Fahad and Major General Abdul Fattah Al-Ali. According to the Public Relations and Security Media Department, checkpoints were established in different parts of the area to make it easier for the securitymen to track down those who violated the law.

The officers inspected establishments, coffee shops, car dealers, factories and companies in the area. During the campaign, six people were arrested for involvement in criminal cases, 13 in civilian cases, 159 who violated the Residency Law, 26 in absconding cases, 103 who failed to present valid identification documents, one in a drug-related case, three in theft cases and 159 marginalized laborers.

The campaign also led to the impounding of 66 vehicles, issuance of 25 citations by the Kuwait Municipality and 35 warnings by the Public Authority for Manpower. The department confirmed the continuation of such campaigns, in coordination with other concerned institutions, to arrest all those who violated the laws of Kuwait.
