KUWAIT CITY, Oct 30: Ooredoo, the fastest network in Kuwait in 2016, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs yesterday, Sunday. The memorandum aims at enhancing cooperation between the two entities to support youth-related projects. The signing ceremony was held at the premises of the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs, and was attended by the Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Al-Humood Al-Sabah, and Deputy Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah, and Ooredoo Kuwait Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani.

Commenting on this event, CEO and General Manager Al-Thani said: “This memorandum of understanding reiterates our position at Ooredoo Kuwait as supporters of youth, and reflects our belief in the government’s strategy in supporting youth. This also further translates the directions of His Highness the Amir, where he stressed on several occasions on the importance of investing in youth.”

He added: “Our strategy in Ooredoo is based on the values of caring, connecting and challenging. Stemming from these values is our CSR strategy, which includes year-round sponsorships and activities that support youth in different sectors.”

On his part, the Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Al-Humood Al-Sabah said: “We are very keen to further cooperate with Ooredoo Kuwait, and we welcome all private sector entities who are ready to support us and cooperate with us. This is a good indication, and we look forward for a fruitful cooperation.”

Ooredoo has won an award by the Ministry of Youth for State Affairs last year for being the only supporter in the private sector for volunteer programs, after the launch of its youth volunteer program. Ooredoo has also sponsored the Youth Initiatives Award, in cooperation with the Arab Media Forum last week.
