Ooredoo partners with Ministry of Youth Affairs – Move to support first Gulf Youth Conference

KUWAIT CITY, March 26: Ooredoo Kuwait, a member of the international Ooredoo Group, has recently tied up with Kuwait’s Ministry of Youth Affairs, to support the first Gulf Youth Conference, that was held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, may God protect him, with a positive support of the Secretariat General of The Cooperation Council of The Arab States of The Gulf. The conference was held at Jumeirah Hotel between March 23 and 26, 2016, as a part of the Kuwait Youth Day series of activities, and was attended by GCC youth ministers’ representatives.

The conference is considered to be the first of its kind to shed the light on the future of youth, and was able to highlight the importance of their positive interactive role in the society.

It also focused on multiple matters concerning youth through discussion panels and workshops where case studies and different experiences were presented by participants; also an exhibition was held to showcase participants’ achievements and accomplishments.

Commenting on the participation, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani, General Manager and CEO OF Ooredoo Kuwait said: “Very pleased to support the first Gulf Youth Conference took place in Kuwait, which comes as a result of H.H The Amir commands to support youth in different aspects of life, and proud of the GCC countries efforts to support  youth and further activate their role in society. We trust that the conference will contribute to the development of youth’s creativity and intellectual scale”

Participants emphasized on the importance of unifying the efforts to develop the role youth must be playing in their societies and attend to their high ambitions and their social, psychological and intellectual needs and the Gulf Youth Conference is one of the approaches to reach this objective.

The Gulf Youth Conference was part of Kuwait Youth Day activities, which also included ADASA festival and Kuwait Award for Excellence and Creativity.
