Oman reports 3 new infections – School girl in Dubai gets infected with coronavirus

MUSCAT, March 4 (KUNA) – The Sultanate of Oman and Algeria reported Wednesday a surge in infections of the new coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Oman news agency reported that the ministry of health registered today three new infections taking the toll up to 15.
Two of the new infected people are Iranians and the third is an Omani national, it stated.



Meanwhile a school girl in Dubai caught coronavirus and has been quarantined along with her family, Dubai health authority announced Wednesday.
It added the 16-year-old girl, who studies in a private school offering Indian program, was quarantined with her family in coordination with the authority of knowledge and human development in Dubai.
Studying in the school has been suspended and buildings were evacuated for a full sterilization process, it said, and all those who were interacted with the infected were tested.
The girl caught the virus from her father who was infected while traveling abroad, it said. Symptoms of the disease appeared five days following his arrival.
Twenty-eight persons were infected with the COVID-19, five of them were cured.
The UAE government decided to suspend schools, public and private universities for four weeks as of next Sunday.
