Oman Exchange teamKUWAIT CITY, April 12: With four weeks remaining in the eliminations series of the on-going Philippine Bowling Association in Kuwait (PBAK) 1st Season Team Tournament-2016 being held in COZMO Bowling Center at Kheifan, the scuffle intensified inside and outside of the ‘Magic 8’. Oman Exchange joined the elite group at the expense of rough Lady Keglers who dropped to ninth spot while COZMO team who lost its game against Mangaf Strikers lingered in the tenth place. Another big blow for the powerless Swooping Eagles on Friday when they were snuffed out by unpredictable Original Pin Mangaf Strikers while ASC Warriors played bye scored 2763 and remained holding the fifth rank.

Original Pin Killers prevailed over wobbly Swooping Eagles and returned to the winning column ending their 3-game slump with Greg Melancon and OPK mainstays Rashid Aker Ali and Christopher Bush leading the charge.

In Game 1, the OPK lost its game 844-859, but in the second and third games the meticulous OPK stuck to their aphorism and duplicated their last week performance, winning both games 888-818, 946-827 but the result was positive in their favor 2753-2529. Melancon came with 188, 242 and 258 (688), Rashid added 524 while Bush chipped in 476, Jelyn Colegio (260) and Ahmad Fadil Karam (152) to dominate a badly outmatched game. Swooping Eagles playing without the key bowlers were Darrel Sullivan (512), Riz Roque (456), Alonzo Bush (453), Danny Solis (435) and Jocelyn Ty. The win-loss result of changing position, now OPK came up three notches from seventh to fourth place while the Eagles dropped from fourth to seventh place.

Tenacious Oman Exchange overwhelmed the startled NUSANTARA 2805- 2645 to register their fifth win of the Season. The Exchanger cruised to victory in the first set, 996-798 and survived the nervy loss in the second (887-902) and third sets (872-895) before landing the Indonesian team to their fourth defeat. It was Rani Skeik (577) who did the action and his team mates, Abdul Aziz Al Aslawi (551), Rudy de Lima (524), Hanadi Mezail (520) and Myra Manalo (513) responded while  Nusantara high scorer was Saleh Al Faraj (513) assisted by Abel Nitikusumo (460), Ahmad Fahmi (432), Abdul Rahman, Bima Nitikusumo, Tatang Razak and Abdul Aziz Al Ali . With the win Oman Exchange grabbed the last spot of the elite group and won the Team Weekly High Series (2755) while NUSANTARA were left unhurt and still tightly gripping the third position.

Fortunate Fiery Dragons end skid with victory over unfortunate Lady Keglers 2641-2509 who suffered their fifth consecutive losing streak due to incomplete lineup. Pedestal built by the lady warriors on its first 3-week supremacy was taken over by its ‘relative team’ and was kicked-out from the Top 8. In last Friday’s performance, Fiery Dragons started to blow their fireballs but with less power that produced insignificant score. Lady Dragons Maria Perly Virly (436) and Laras Nitikusumo (412) were the top scorers followed by Joel Tizon, Eddie Pena, Moises Amahan,  Mar and Eden Evangelista while Lady Keglers Sonia (520), Blanca Sambajon (495), Alma Turley (453) and Aris de Guzman (449).

PBAK organizers would like to acknowledge and appreciate Dunkin’ Donuts’ Country Manager Mr. Ahmed Hamed for their untiring support and cooperation making the tournament event successful.

Other results: Giant Killer Mangaf Strikers led by Ceddie Martin Faa (563) and Tony Zuleta (518) shocked another colossus of the league, COZMO the lane masters, 2813-2617; Scavengers continued its win festival and now the victim was Bowlersmate, 2784-2596; Asian Air Safari formidable trio Norman Conde (561), Mousa Abdullah (557) and Fadel Al Qassem (550) dumped LEAF 2829-2655 and finally ASC Warriors played bye and scored 2763 and holding still the fifth position.
