Officer in uniform admits robbing expat

KUWAIT CITY, March 22: An officer of rank “First Sergeant” from Ministry of Interior was arrested for stealing KD 400 from an Asian expatriate.

According to security sources, the victim informed securitymen that the suspect was wearing police uniform when he robbed him of his cash. He gave securitymen the description of the suspect. Securitymen checked the details to discover he is an officer of a police station in Farwaniya Governorate. When the suspect was interrogated, he confessed to stealing from the Asian victim, as well as many others in the past while wearing his uniform. He was referred to the concerned authorities where necessary action was taken.

Meanwhile, an Asian expatriate reported at Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station the theft of his mobile phone. He explained that he was walking beside one of the roads when an unknown individual snatched his mobile phone from his hand and ran away. Using the description of the suspect provided by the victim, securitymen launched investigations to find and arrest the suspect. A case was registered.
