No vaccine, treatment for coronavirus – Chinese top medical advisor

KUWAIT, March 18 : There is no vaccine or a treatment for the novel coronavirus, the Chinese government’s senior medical advisor Zhong Nanshan said Wednesday, calling for a global collaboration to find a cure for the rapidly-spreading disease.

Zhong, a specialist in respiratory system, told a news conference that was monitored in Kuwait, said production of vaccine or a medication required an international cooperation.
He denied anew the epicenter of the coronavirus was in the city of Wuhan, the provincial capital of Hubei.

“It is irresponsible to jump to conclusions without getting the facts,” he said.

Zhong rejected the herd immunity approach that was announced by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
There is no scientific research of a lifelong immunity even of a person already infected wit a virus, he said (KUNA) —
