‘No changes made in terms of reopening schools & resumption of academic year’

KUWAIT CITY, April 27: Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Saud Al-Harbi announced that measures implemented on the educational process is going well, and regarding announcements made in relation to the resumption of the school year, no changes have been made in terms of dates for school reopening.

Dr Al-Harbi stressed that the ministry continues on its efforts to implement the plan set in this regard, in coordination with concerned authorities. Talking about non-payment of salaries to those whose leave ended but were unable to resume work due to the measures imposed to combat the spread of coronavirus, Dr Al-Harbi explained that all cases will be listed and reviewed.

He stressed that “this issue will be discussed with the competent authorities in the ministry and the Civil Service Commission to find a solution and end the problem of those who were unable to resume work due to the current circumstances”.

Dr Al-Harbi affirmed that he will continue to pay the salaries of Bedoun teachers and would not flatter anyone on this matter. He revealed giving urgent instructions to pay salaries quickly, and there is no delay in this regard. He mentioned that the ministry spares no effort in cooperating with competent authorities in the country to confront the Corona virus, stressing the health and safety of the people is above all considerations.
