KUWAIT CITY, Jan 5: Kuwaiti thinker and academician Abdullah Al-Nafisi has called on Saudi Arabia to name the street where the Iranian embassy in Riyadh is located after the Iranian Sunni woman Reyhaneh Jabbari who was executed in Tehran in 2014, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Al-Nafisi in a tweet on his Twitter account said this is the most appropriate time for naming that street in Riyadh after Jabbari in response to a campaign launched by Tehran following the execution of Shiite cleric Nimr Al-Nimr.

Al-Nafisi recalled the case of Jabbari, the Sunni woman, who was executed for the murder of an Iranian intelligence officer who tried to rape her. He added by saying, when the judge asked her: ‘Why did you kill him? She said, ‘To protect my honor’, and the judge said: ‘This is not an excuse for murder’. Al-Nafisi added she told the judge he is not an honorable person and the judge then ordered her execution. The Sunni Iranian woman, Reyhaneh Jabbari, is a martyr. We pray to God to rest her soul in peace.
