Municipality to ‘terminate’ services of uncommitted to fingerprint expat staff

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7: Acting Director of Kuwait Municipality Engineer Ahmad Al- Manfoohi disclosed that the sector is bent on terminating the services of expatriate employees uncommitted to fingerprint attendance system.

He added the principle of deducting salaries and expelling employees has been activated, reports Al-Rai daily. In a statement, Al-Manfoohi stressed that new contracts for highly experienced expatriate engineers, financial consultants and lawyers will be endorsed in the upcoming meeting of Civil Service Commission and the Ministry of Finance.

He also said the Municipality through its youth employees seeks to control the issue of bureaucracy in fulfilling transactions, as per guidelines of Minister Issa Al-Kandari, based on his determination to improve the image of the Municipality in the coming phase in cooperation with surveillance authorities — State Audit Bureau and the Parliamentary Budget Committee.

He further revealed the Municipality’s plan to solicit support to obtain live satellite images of real estates without necessarily visiting the property to facilitate transactions. He added Kuwait Municipality will depend on electronic signature after the issuance of related bylaws.
