Municipality team destroys 500-kg expired foodstuff

KUWAIT CITY, May 28: Public Relations and Media Department at Kuwait Municipality stated the campaign dubbed ‘Your health is our responsibility’ continues nationwide. In a statement, head of the emergency team at Jahra Municipality Ali Al-Quwaid said officers seized and destroyed 500-kg of expired foodstuff deemed unfit for human consumption during an inspection of a depot in Sulaibiya area.

For his part, head of Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality’s emergency team Nasser Al-Hajri said the recent campaign in the governorate led to the closure of two shops. He also said 20 violations involving foodstuff and advertisements were issued, while inspectors seized and destroyed 35-kg of expired chocolate and meat.
